Supported independent living is the name of the NDIS funding that provides supports to people with disability to help them live as independently as possible. SIL funding is typically for people who need 24/7 support while living in a shared home. It exists to cover the cost of the support staff in the house.
SIL is help and/or supervision of daily tasks to help you live as independently as possible, while building your skills. It is the paid personal supports and is most commonly used in shared living arrangements. SIL funding doesn’t include things like rent or other day-to-day expenses like groceries.

Specialized Disability Accommodation (SDA) is for participants who need specialist housing solutions for high support needs or extrema functional impairment. SDA funding is aimed to cover any disability – related expenses that are above the usual costs of housing and does not refer to person-to-person support services.
