Am I eligible for the NDIS?

If you have a disability you may be able to receive Government support through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

Are you eligible?

The NDIS provides support to people with disability in Australia and is available to anyone with a physical, mental or intellectual disability.
Before you are able to access support through the NDIS, you need to meet the eligibility criteria.

To meet the NDIS eligibility requirements:

  • You must be living with a disability that affects your ability to perform everyday activities.
  • You must be an Australian citizen, or hold a permanent visa; or a Protected Special Category Visa.
  • You must be under 65 years of age.
  • You need support from a person or equipment in order to do everyday activities.

How to apply for NDIS?

If you wish to become an NDIS participant, you must make an Access Request by either:

  • Make a verbal application by calling us on 1800 800 110
  • Complete an Access Request Form and send it via email to NAT@ndis.gov.au

  • You must answer questions about providing consent to access the NDIS and seeking information from third parties.
  • You may also need to provide additional information about your disability and how it impacts your everyday life. This can be supported with copies of existing information such as letters, reports or a form signed by your current healthcare practitioner.
